State of the Sector Report

WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT: 
While a state of the sector report isn’t unusual, we believe that there has never been one that reflects our entire three-state, 17-county region. As our nonprofit community works in and supports our region, not just Chattanooga and Hamilton County, we believe that having data that reflects the people and communities served will be vital to our nonprofits’ success. Not only does it help broaden the base upon which they can secure funding by providing statistical support for their work but it also provides data that truly reflects the impact they’re having in all the communities they reach without it being skewed by results that typically show up in statewide state of the sector reports or lacking results for our neighbors in our surrounding counties in Tennessee, NW Georgia and NE Alabama.  

We believe that Nonprofit Nexus: State of the Sector will inform the region about the economic and social impact of nonprofits, as well as identify gaps in meeting unaddressed needs. Building and sustaining organizational capacity and identifying opportunities for partnership and collaboration are key to addressing those unmet needs. Informing the business sector, foundations, and our government partners of the current scope and significance of the continuing needs of the nonprofit community will help them all to use their resources wisely to facilitate regional opportunities and collaborations that will more effectively address community challenges. ​​
